These two wines, certified organic, reflect Tapada de Coelheiros’ ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible production. Respect for biodiversity and regenerative farming practices have ensured authentic, high-quality wines, ideal for toasting on special occasions such as Easter.
João Raposeira, agricultural and sustainability director at Tapada de Coelheiros, says: “At Tapada de Coelheiros, we believe that regenerative agriculture is essential for producing authentic wines. These two wines reflect the continuous work we do, through practices that preserve the natural balance and enrich our agricultural and natural mosaic, allowing us to express our terroir in a more authentic and faithful way.”
Luís Patrão, winemaker at Tapada de Coelheiros, said: “The transition to a biological and regenerative approach has had an increasingly positive impact on the quality of our wines. Coelheiros Rosé 2024 and Coelheiros Branco 2024 reflect this evolution, showing elegance, structure and the unique identity of our fresh and vibrant Alentejo.”
The year 2024 was marked by a dry fall, followed by a winter with a lot of rain, especially in January and March. Spring was dry, while summer brought high temperatures, especially in July and August, which saw periods of intense heat and generated some stress in the vineyards. Despite this, the harvest in September benefited from perfect conditions, with mild, dry days, resulting in wines with excellent aromatic concentration and balance.
Coelheiros Rosé 2024, made from Syrah and Touriga Nacional grapes, stands out for its aromatic exuberance and elegance. It has delicate floral notes of violet, combined with fresh red fruits and a vibrant citrus touch. It turns out to be a balanced and sophisticated rosé, with a refreshing acidity that enhances its liveliness, and a long and persistent finish. Its versatility makes it the ideal choice for presenting other gastronomic proposals at the Easter table, perfectly accompanying light and refined dishes such as ceviches and carpaccios.
Coelheiros White 2024, made from Arinto and Antão Vaz grape varieties from the Monte and Alto vineyards, is a wine that combines citrus notes of limes, surrounded by delicate aromas of melon and green apple, which give it freshness and elegance. On the palate, it’s a wine that stands out for its vibrant acidity, typical of the Arinto variety, combined with the barrel-fermented component that contributes to a smooth and enveloping texture, culminating in a long finish. The result is a white wine that combines freshness, vibrant fruit and a unique complexity, which pairs perfectly with seafood, salads or to be enjoyed as an aperitif.
