The European Union Ambassador to Angola on Tuesday called for respect for human rights and freedom of expression despite restrictions imposed by Covid-19, recognising that there are "some concerns" in this area that have been expressed to the Angolan government.
Jeannette Seppen spoke after a meeting with the minister for justice and human rights in Luanda to assess the National Human Rights Strategy and the follow-up of the recommendations of the Third Cycle's Periodic and Universal Assessment.
At the annual meeting of the European Union delegation with the Angolan government, several human rights aspects were discussed in a dialogue that Jeannette Seppen considered "very rich".
